POSITION SUMMARY

The position of Senior SAP Analyst reports to the Senior IT Manager and is located in Ithaca, NY.

As a System Analyst, will be the liaison between the business units, operations, technology teams and support teams. You are responsible for local SAP leads in sales and distribution to support SAP for new business requirements and trouble shooting.

You will test systems and processes for enhancements and projects, assist in creating user guides for business processes and possibly train users on new processes, reports and transactions. While being supported by other team members, you will provide functional support and troubleshooting for production issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads, directs, plans, prioritizes and supports SAP activities to deliver solutions.
  • Resolve plant SAP issues as they arise, recommend process and system improvements and drive solution resolution.
  • Local SAP lead in sales and distribution for SAP support in new business requirements and trouble shooting.
  • Partner with other IT team members and SAP lead to support complex manufacturing and materials management operations to resolve local issues.
  • Key team members include subject matter experts, users, and vendor resources to properly define and document requirements and to ensure successful translation into system functionality.’
  • Coordinate with IT developers and fellow business analysts to deliver desired results and attain user acceptance and sign-off. Facilitate and participate in all aspects of testing.
  • Create and document business processes and complex technical specifications.
  • Work closely with leadership to assist in the definition of system requirements, influence solution design and approach, and lead prioritization of requirements for improvement.
  • Works with internal and/or external teams to design solutions that address business needs, while applying knowledge of emerging technologies.
  • Works cross-functionally with the business and IT to provide and deliver quality technology solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to Enterprise change control procedures.
     

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ total years of SAP SD analyst experience.
  • Possess configuration skills and understand business processes in SAP-SD modules.
  • Familiar with a global SAP template that has multiple company codes that share process and master data.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferably in automotive industry.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (both speaking and writing).
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people (users).
  • Ability to write and validate technical specification and be able to develop test scripts for custom developments.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, advancements in technology, and enhancements.
  • Good organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Conducted SAP functional training for users.
  • Knowledge of using Solution Manager and ChaRM for change management.
  • Experience in HANA or FIORI is a plus.
  • ABAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong technical experience and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
